Spend the Day with Scott Kelby,
#1 Bestselling Techniques Book Author

This new live seminar focuses on the most requested, most useful, and most important Adobe Photoshop techniques for Lightroom users. Developed and taught by Scott Kelby—Editor and Publisher of Photoshop User magazine and the world's #1 bestselling author of photography technique books. Although Scott covers everything from masking hair, retouching portraits, and the pro's secrets for sharpening images, this seminar covers so much more—including everything from today's hottest Photoshop special effects for photographers to how to work faster, smarter, and more efficiently in Photoshop.

The Days Schedule of Events

Doors open at 9:00am. Class starts at 10:00am.

Mastering Layers

10:00 am - 11:15 am

Photoshop's Layers are the building block to everything we do in Photoshop and the key to unlocking the real power of the program. Harness the power of Layers, and it will change how you work in Photoshop forever. We'll kick off the day by teaching you the essential layers techniques; and how to use them like a pro, how to make the most of Layer Blend Modes, Adjustment Layers, and more.

Portrait Retouching

11:30 am - 12:45 pm

Learn the latest techniques — the ones today's top pros use in their work to make their subjects look their very best. We'll teach you how to keep realistic skin tone and texture, the latest techniques for retouching eyes (incredibly important), and a host of retouching techniques that look hard, but are easy once you know the secrets, when and why to use techniques, and which retouches to avoid.

Lunch

12:45 pm - 1:30 pm

Attendees will get a 45 minute break for lunch. Many convention centers offer cafés and restaurants on the premises. If there are not, our staff will be available to let attendees know about surrounding restaurants on the day of the event.

Photoshop Down & Dirty Tricks

1:45 pm - 2:45 pm

Uncover how today’s most-requested looks are created. This is where you learn those closely guarded "Tricks of the Trade" and the post-processing secrets that will give you a serious competitive advantage in the marketplace. You’ll learn the latest color grading techniques, the hottest special effects for portraits and bridal portraits, gorgeous type techniques, and so much more.

Photoshop Studio Techniques

3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Here's where you learn it all—how to mask hair, replace skies, fix group shots, and remove distractions. It's all about fixing, and repairing. It's professional sharpening techniques that quickly make your images tack sharp. We'll talk about using Smart Objects to speed up your work, and how to easily create videos entirely in Photoshop (this will blow your mind), and so many more every-day techniques.

Photoshop Killer Tips for Photographers

4:15 pm - 5:15 pm

We wrap up the day in a session where you'll learn to take your speed, productivity and efficiency through the roof by learning all those little-known insider tips, workarounds and shortcuts that make all the difference. This is where you'll learn how to get twice the work done in half the time, which techniques speed up your work and which ones to avoid, and techniques that make Photoshop fast and fun.

If something comes up before the seminar and you can't make it, don't fret! Just call our customer service department to let us know, and we'll gladly provide you with a full refund.

The KelbyOne Live customer service number is (800) 201-7323 and accepts calls Monday through Friday (excluding holidays), 9:00am – 5:30pm (Eastern Time).

A printed version of the seminar workbook will be available after the seminar and a digital copy will be emailed to you the day of the seminar.
You are requested to provide your own lunch. A 1-hour lunch break is built into the schedule so attendees may do whatever they would like during this time. Many convention centers offer cafés and restaurants on the premises, and many do not. We suggest bringing a lunch and snacks for the day, or locating restaurants within walking distance of the seminar. Our staff will be available the day of the event to offer recommendations on local restaurants.
Unfortunately no video or voice recording is permitted during our seminars but you will get a very detailed workbook so you can refer back to all lessons of the seminar when you get home.
The registration desk opens at 9:00am. The seminar begins promptly at 10:00am. We ask that all attendees arrive with enough time to check in and find a seat before 10:00am. Seating is first-come, first-served. We present on large, bright video projection screens that are easily visible from any seat. While there is no bad seat in the house, the earlier you arrive the more likely you are to get the seat you want!
This is a lecture-style seminar. You can leave your heavy camera equipment at home unless you just want to shoot for fun or get a picture with Scott!
You may dress as casual or as dressy as you would like. We want you to be as comfortable as possible. We do however, recommend that you bring along a sweater or jacket. Many of the venues can be quite chilly.
We're happy to provide interpreting services for the hearing impaired. Please contact us no later than 3 weeks prior to your seminar date to allow appropriate arrangements to be made.

Of course! One of the best things about our seminars is the opportunity to speak face-to-face with Scott, the instructor. Ask your most-pressing Photoshop questions, get your books autographed, or simply take a photo with him!

You'll be given plenty of time for this, during breaks, lunch, and after the event. This is one of Scott's favorite elements of the seminar—so be sure to stop by the stage and say, “hi!”

You are responsible for parking fees and arrangements. Parking garages, lots, or spaces near the seminar may charge for parking, and prices may vary. We recommend you visit the website of the venue listed for your particular city for information on parking locations and fees.
A willingness to learn, and maybe a pen! All of our seminar tours offer detailed workbooks which outline each step-by-step technique and tutorial taught in the classroom. The workbooks have several “notes” sections should you find yourself wanting to jot anything down. But ultimately we want you to sit back and enjoy your day of learning, without feeling like you need to scramble to take notes.

KelbyOne guarantees our seminar with a 100% money-back guarantee. If you’re dissatisfied for any reason, you can simply contact our customer service department up to 10 days after your seminar, and we'll gladly provide you with a full refund.
